We would like parents to volunteer to help make the field elements over the next few couple days. Any help is appreciated — even a few hours.
The work required for making the field elements is reading the drawings provided by FIRST, then measuring/cutting/assembling things (most likely out of plywood and 2x4s, maybe some plastic or some springs here and there). So if anyone wants to help, you should be comfortable with using tools (saws/drills/etc.). The team will pay for any materials/hardware we need, but it would be helpful if maybe a few parents are willing to head to the hardware store and pick up raw materials that we don’t already have in the rooms. Hopefully we can get everything built Sat/Sun during our meetings. Anything we don’t finish by the end of Sunday can most likely be finished by the students/mentors during the next week.

Workshops will be occurring weekly, starting on Wednesday, October 18:

  • Wednesday
    • 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm: Programming
    • 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm: Dinner
    • 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm: Electrical
  • Thursday
    • 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm: Design
    • 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm: Dinner
    • 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm: Manufacturing

Workshops are at SATO, just the same as the normal meetings

There will be a sign-in at each workshop
